We will pair you up with one of our fabulous mini donkeys, and together, you will explore and delight in the trails through our woods, hayfield, and over a stream or two.

Donkey treks are a fun way to celebrate any special occasion. They are also perfect if you and your friends or family are looking for a unique way to experience the beauty of the Berkshires.

Cost: $100/group for an hour trek (5 max).

We have also partnered with Berkshire Picnics so that you can add on a luxury picnic. Contact us to book a trek and for more information.

  • Horse Tours—A Special Trail Ride Experience

What to expect: We start your trail ride experience by allowing you and your horse time to get to know one another. You will groom your horse, and learn a bit about their story, personality, and how they communicate. Feel free to ask questions and get hands-on! The ride will begin in our outdoor arena, getting down safety and the essential basics.

We will then venture out through a hayfield, down a wooded lane, across a brook, and around the farm. Take in the amazing scenery and deep breaths of nature all around.

Cost: Weekdays: $85/per person. Weekends: $100/per person. For ages 10+.

Equine-assisted healing

N.E.I.G.H. (National Equine Institute for Growth through Healing) program

Horses have a unique way of sensing and mimicking human behavior and emotions. Equine Assisted Therapy allows humans to interact and connect with horses and each other in a non-threatening, non-judgmental atmosphere. Through these interactions, emotional and behavioral tendencies are uncovered and encountered under the supervision of a certified instructor.

This unique program, for Individuals and groups, is a facilitated interaction with our gentle horses to support emotional and mental health healing for issues such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, self-harm, self-esteem issues, and abusive relationships. N.E.I.G.H. participation can be standalone or integrated with current therapy and support involving mental health professionals. Using the Emotional Coat Model, participants learn to identify behaviors, traits, and communications via the horses rather than directly, providing a more open and less threatening approach for discussion, empathy, and reflection.

Our HomeFarm staff are trained facilitators for equine-assisted activities and learning; however, they are not therapists.

Custom programs are available for children, adults, families, schools, human services organizations, and other nonprofits. Our animals are always willing to help.
